Avoiding Slips, Trips, and Falls in the Snow

As were all are preparing for the first winter snow today, here are some helpful tips to avoid slips and falls.

1) Look before you step for visible and black ice

2) Wear the right shoes with good traction and small/no heel

3) Use handrails

4) Watch for wet floors as you are entering buildings

5) Get your eyes checked (so you can actually see potential hazards)

6) Try to shovel right after a snowfall and use salts to prevent ice buildup

7) When shoveling push the snow rather than twist with your back
