Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a technique physical therapists use to treat myofascial pain. The technique uses a “dry” needle, meaning one without medication or injection, and is inserted through the skin into areas of muscle known as trigger points along with connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments. This technique is used to treat dysfunctions in skeletal muscle, connective tissue, to diminish persistent and chronic pain, and reduce or restore impairments in body structure and function, leading to improved activity and participation.

Is Dry Needling the same as Acupuncture?
